The Mother Jugs & Speed Newsletter Archive
"Heeeeeyyyy JUGGS!!" -- Larry Hagman
The following is the sum total of a pretty hilarious month I had at
Bradley University, thanks largely in part to the inspired idea of one Dan
Rench.
At the time the MJ&S newsletter was distributed, Bradley had two main
computer for student use. There was buhub, which was the "social"
machine; any student could apply for an account to send e-mail, read news,
telnet, whatever. Then there was bucs1, which was for Computer
Science students. It had news, but only the newsgroups local to Bradley,
and they didn't get the messages from people on buhub. So,
naturally, these Computer Science students had some reason to feel left
out.
What you are about to read took place in April/May 1991. To my great
surprise, I found
myself participating in a grand parody of newsgroups, electronic
newsletters, FAQs, and the net in general. It was most enjoyable, and I
hope you get some amusement out of it.
